Scientific and technical innovations in agriculture have led to significant advancements, particularly in the development of biostimulants. These products, such as Vilasea and Chitang introduced by Auraphyll, harness the power of natural marine-based biopolymers to enhance plant growth, yield, and overall quality. In this blog post, we’ll explore the benefits and applications of these biostimulants, sharing the experiences of Mr. Periyasamy, a jasmine farmer from
Villupuram.
Biostimulants are organic substances that, when applied to plants and the rhizosphere, stimulate physiological and molecular mechanisms, enhancing various plant attributes. They play a crucial role in improving root growth, nutrient uptake, and stress tolerance

Vilasea stands out as an effective biocontrol tool, leveraging biopolymers derived from natural marine sources. Crafted from non-toxic and biodegradable components, Vilasea activates plant stress defense and growth systems, fortifying plants against adversities. Its cationic nature disrupts harmful pathogens, making it a versatile biocontrol agent.
Vilasea’s molecular properties neutralize and combat harmful pathogens by interacting with microbial cell surfaces. This leads to the impairment of pathogenic microbial activities, ensuring healthier plants and thriving farms.
The advantages of Vilasea are multi-faceted. It triggers the activation of plant stress defense and growth systems, catalyzing the development of more robust and healthier plants. Importantly, Vilasea achieves this without subjecting plants to undue stress, ensuring a harmonious balance in agricultural ecosystems. Furthermore, Vilasea plays a pivotal role in disrupting harmful pathogens, acting as a shield for crops. This not only results in healthier plants but also thriving
farms, contributing to the prosperity of farmers. It proves effective in addressing fungal infections and blights, showcasing its versatility as a strong biocontrol agent.
Vilasea’s cationic nature, characterized by the positively charged NH3+ groups of glucosamine, plays a fundamental role. This feature facilitates interaction with the negatively charged microbial cell surface, ultimately leading to the impairment of pathogenic microbial activities. In essence, Vilasea’s molecular properties enable it to neutralize and combat harmful pathogens, securing a healthier and more productive environment for agricultural endeavors.
Chitang utilizes marine chitosan oligosaccharide derived from natural sources. With optimized structure and molecular weight, Chitang serves as a potent signal to plants, promoting enzymatic production, synthesis processes, and defense mechanisms.
Chitang offers preventative control of diseases, reduces the need for fertilizers and pesticides, and significantly enhances marketable produce. Its impact on yield, photosynthesis, and overall plant health makes it a holistic solution for farmers.
Chitang functions as a messenger, signaling plants to produce essential enzymes, stimulating denovo synthesis, and triggering defense mechanisms. This multifaceted approach empowers plants to overcome both biotic and abiotic stress, fostering resilience and vitality. Additionally, Chitang facilitates the development of new roots, shoots, and leaves, akin to a human vaccine for plants, fortifying them against potential threats and promoting robust growth.
Mr. Periyasamy, an aspiring farmer, shares his positive experience after using Chitang and Vilasea. The combination significantly increased plant height, stems, flowers, and leaves, resulting in a 61.34% enhancement compared to untreated plants.

After the application of Vilasea and Chitang, the enhancement of plant height, number of flowers and stems, and leaf production was substantial. The results showed a 61.34% increase in plant height, a 69.62% increase in the number of flowers, a 115.6% increase in stems, and a 63.34% increase in leaf production compared to untreated plants (Figure 2 and 3).
These results not only have agronomical significance but also economic implications. The Vilasea and Chitang treatments resulted in plants with a higher aesthetic effect, making flowers more appreciated by consumers and consequently producing higher revenue for farmers.
Leaf area was significantly higher in plants treated with commercial Vilasea and Chitang (1730.3 cm2) compared to control plants (889.1 cm2) (Figure 4). Net photosynthesis (Pn), stomatal conductance (Gs), and total chlorophyll content were also positively influenced by the applied biostimulant products. These measurements indicate a healthier and more productive environment for the plants (Figure 5).

In conclusion, the application of Vilasea and Chitang as biostimulants has proven to be an effective and sustainable alternative to commercial chemical products. The enhanced plant growth, quality traits, and physiological improvements demonstrate the potential for smart agricultural applications.

Farmers, like Mr. Periyasamy, can benefit from these biostimulants to achieve faster growth, reduce costs, and meet consumer demands for healthier and more visually appealing crops. As the agricultural industry continues to embrace innovation, biostimulants stand out as key contributors to sustainable and prosperous farming practices. The use of Vilasea and Chitang represents a paradigm shift towards environmentally friendly and economically viable solutions for modern agriculture. With their multifaceted benefits, these biostimulants pave the way for a greener and more productive future in farming.
